Communique of the end of the hunger strike and the continuation of the mobilization of the prisoners of Carcel de Alta Seguridad [High Security Prison] against the reform of law 321

Publicacion Refractario / Saturday, June 1st, 2019

Today Thursday, May 30, we are ending the hunger strike after 14 days. We started it in 23 prisoners locked up in section 3H north of this unit, and in the days that followed the hunger strike saw the participation of different sections, reaching a total of 32 prisoners, as a concrete manifestation of the refusal of the application of the amendment to Legislative Decree No 321, concerning parole.

We believe that this struggle requires the attention, resolution and the dedication of all the imprisoned concerned, as well as their families, their organizations and their people who see prison as an instrument of discipline primarily aimed at criminalizing poverty and supported by an ever more repressive legal framework, the aim of which is to keep social order in the service of the powerful of this country.

As part of the national mobilization of prisoners and those accompanying and supporting us against this perverse modification, we declare a state of permanent mobilization, since it is with the silence and the complicity of the politicians of all colours sitting in Congress, judges and lawyers who justify and the State as a whole, under the Piñera government [Sebastián Piñera, the Chilean President; NdAtt.] who, behind the backs of the small people, have used legality in violation of the treaties as well as principles of their own law, which they claim to defend. Italy: Updates on the hunger strike of imprisoned anarchists for the closure of the AS2 section of L’Aquila

via 325

The hunger strike for the closure of the AS2 section [“High Surveillance 2”] of the prison of L’Aquila continues [it was started by the anarchists Anna Beniamino and Silvia Ruggeri on 29 May, 2019].

The anarchists prisoners Salvatore Vespertino, Giovanni Ghezzi, Alfredo Cospito, Marco Bisesti and Luca Dolce also joined the hunger strike.

In our closeness, we will not publish or in any way give space to petitions, telegrams, faxes, mail bombings or any means of civil pressure aimed at emphasizing the current repressive situation; we consider these means not only useless but harmful, counterproductive and objectively enemies of anti-authoritarian thought and action, which unfold in a very different horizon.

Brussels, Belgium: Bulletin #2

Print out of PDF in English

From 2008, the Belgian State started a large investigation aiming at different struggles – but always without concessions – against detention centres, borders, prisons and the world of authority and exploitation.

In its viewfinder: the anarchist library Acrata, anarchist and
anti-authoritarian publications (Hors Service, La Cavale and Tout doit partir), dozens of flyers and posters, more than a hundred actions, attacks and sabotages…in other words the fight against Power in all its different expressions.

Initially charged with “participation in a terrorist group”, it is
finally under the accusation of “criminal association” that 12 comrades were on trial at the end of April in Brussels. Around the same time, 6 comrades received a convocation for the Chambre du Conseil connected to another investigation that could result in formal accusations for “incitement to commit crimes”.

On the 29th and 30th of April 2019, the trial was held in Brussels
against anarchists prosecuted for “criminal association” as well as for a series of crimes. In 2017 the Chambre du Conseil had already disqualified the accusation of participation in a terrorist group and dropped a number of accusations for which it felt there were not sufficient grounds to charge.

Two defendants attended the trial at the Criminal Court. They refused to answer the questions of the magistrates. The other ten accused did not show up. All were represented by lawyers. Following the oral argument of magistrate Malagnini of the Federal Prosecution, the lawyers took the floor and pleaded inadmissibility and acquittal. For his part, the prosecutor asked for sentences ranging from 100 to 300 hours of community service or a subsidiary sentence ranging from 12 months to 4 years in prison (9 accused), a suspended sentence of 12 months and a fine of 50 euros for one person and acquittal for 2 persons. The accused refused to accept work punishments.
