Write to Prisoners

The following is a list of anarchist comrades captured by the state and enduring the monotonous mundanity of a system designed to break them.

Please send letters and expressions of solidarity to let them know that they are not alone and they are not forgotten. Remember that some comrades have restrictions on the type of mail that they can receive- for example Russian comrades can only receive mail that is written in Russian.

A comrade and a partner were released from prison following their acquittal in the first instance trial.
On 6 September 2016, five anarchist comrades were arrested as part of the “Scripta manent” operation. For two other fellow prisoners (Alfredo and Nicola) a new incarceration is imposed and, at the same time as the arrests, 32 house searches against anarchists take place. During one of these, another comrade is arrested on charges of having possessed materials suitable for making bombs in the house, and released a few months later. An arrested companion was subsequently transferred to house arrest. The main accusations are: of having constituted or participated in a “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order” (art. 270bis of the penal code) with reference to FAI (Informal Anarchist Federation) and to FAI / IRF ( Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front); only for some comrades, of “terrorist attack” (art. 280, cp) with reference to about 11 actions carried out through parcels and explosive devices between 2005 and 2007, except for one occurred in 2016, by groups and groups at the Fai; and always only for some comrades, of “instigation to commit crimes” (art. 414, cp) with “the aggravating circumstance of terrorism” with reference to the publication of the last edition of “Croce Nera Anarchica” (four issues between 2014 and 2017) and for the management of some internet sites (the website of C. N A., anarhija.info, RadioAzione). In addition, a substantial part of the “Ardire” operation (June 2012), which involved the arrest of eight comrades, the custody for two other companions at the time already prisoners and countless searches, was merged into “Scripta manent”.
In the first days of June 2017, other investigations were notified to seven other anarchists, a “strand” subsequently merged with the “Scripta manent” operation, whose process began on June 5, 2017 in the courtroom of the Turin court, at the prison of “Le Vallette”. The public prosecutor is Roberto Sparagna. The comrades in prison are detained in sections AS2 (“High Surveillance 2”) in Ferrara, Alessandria and L’Aquila (in April 2019 Anna was transferred from Rome Rebibbia to the latter prison). Some comrades were forced to videoconference from the prison, therefore the impossibility of being present in the courtroom during the hearings.
In February 2019, Fr. M. presented his indictment and, subsequently, his own requests for conviction (a little over 200 years for 23 people overall, with maximum sentences between 29 and 30 years). On April 24, following the judges’ decisions, the first instance sentence was issued by the court of Turin, which sentenced five comrades: Anna Beniamino at 17, Marco Bisesti at 5, Alfredo Cospito at 20, Nicola Gai a 9, Alessandro Mercogliano a 5. The latter were therefore recognized as promoters or participants in a “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism or subversion of the democratic order”, while the only Anna and Alfredo were convicted of certain attacks made by nuclei and groups of the FAI between 2005 and 2007 (crimes of “terrorist attack,” possession and transport of explosives “and” massacre “). Instead, the remaining 18 fellow defendants were acquitted of all charges (as mentioned, all for art. 270bis v. P. And some for 414 v. P. And 280 v. P.). Among these, following the sentence of first instance that acquitted them, a comrade in prison in the section AS2 in Ferrara and a companion forced under house arrest (previously also in prison, first in Latina then in Rome Rebibbia) were released from prison after a little over two and a half years in prison in custody.
Alfredo and Nicola were already in prison following their sentences (respectively at about 9 and 8 years each) in the process where they were accused of injuring Roberto Adinolfi, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare (Genoa, 7 May 2012); action claimed with a text from the “Nucleo Olga” of the Fai / Fri. Subsequently, during the trial both have individually claimed the realization of the action.
It is possible to send money in support of fellow prisoners and defendants following the “Scripta manent” operation by reloading the postpay card n. 5333 1710 7777 2446. Those who prefer to make a bank transfer can contact who manages the cash at the e-mail address cassamanent@tutanota.com and will receive the IBAN coordinates and the card header.

Anarchists arrested on 3 August 2017, in the context of a repressive operation against the anarchists in Florence, accused of having carried out an explosive attack on the “Il Bargello” bookstore (1 January 2017), a space linked to fascists and the party Casapound. During the outbreak a policeman was seriously injured, who lost part of a hand and an eye. Among the innumerable accusations, they are accused and accused of “attempted murder” and “criminal association”. Simultaneously with the repressive operation, the anarchist occupation of La Riottosa in Florence was evacuated and eight comrades were arrested on charges of having carried out this action and an arson attack on a carabinieri barracks in the Rovezzano neighborhood (Florence, 21 April 2016) . Apart from Geshe, all the other companions were subsequently released from prison. But between March and April 2018 Giovanni and Paska were still arrested following an appeal decision. Another companion also arrested in August 2017 is the recipient of other restrictive measures. The accusation of “criminal association” refers to the so-called “Panico” operation (from the name of another Florentine anarchist occupation) which involved searches and three arrests on 31 January 2017. The trial is currently underway in Florence. The sentence is expected in July 2019. For more information, consult the panicoanarchico.noblogs.org website. Operation “Renata”
Luca Dolce (detto “Stecco”)
C. C. di Ferrara
via Arginone 327
44122 Ferrara
Five people are under house arrest and another with other restrictions.
During the night and the morning of Tuesday 19 February 2019, seven anarchists were arrested in various places in Trentino. One person was immediately charged with house arrest, while all the others were imprisoned in various prisons. The main accusations are “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order” (article 270bis of the penal code) and of “terrorist attack” (article 280 of the penal code), with reference to some direct actions that have taken place in Trentino over the past few years. Other crimes of which they are accused are: “interruption of public service”, “damage”, “sabotage of telematic devices”, “fire” and “transport of explosive material”. At the same time, 50 searches were carried out, with about 150 policemen and carabinieri mobilized in the repressive operation (which was given the name “operation Renata”, apparently a name taken from the nickname given to a car used by companions). The investigations were conducted by Digos (State Police) and ROS (Carabinieri). On the same day of the arrests, a press conference took place in Rome, organized by anti-terrorism.
In March, following a review court decision that found the allegations of “terrorism” non-existent, the charge of “subversive association with the purpose of terrorism and subversion of the democratic order” fell (Article 270bis , cp) of which a part of the arrested comrades were initially accused, and the hypothesized crime has become that of “subversive association” (art. 270, cp). The charges relating to specific facts (“interruption of public service”, “damage”, “sabotage of telematic devices”, “fire” and “transport of explosive material”) are unchanged.
On May 9, five anarchist prisoners were transferred under house arrest from February 19, 2019 following the “Renata” operation; one recently transferred to the AS2 prison section of L’Aquila, two prisoners in Tolmezzo and two others held in Ferrara. Comrade Luca Dolce (known as “Stecco”) remains in prison because of other final convictions. While another partner, also arrested on February 19 and immediately placed under house arrest, had this last “precautionary measure” converted into a home and return home from 9.00 pm to 7.00 am.
Still in May Stecco was transferred from the prison of Tolmezzo to that of Ferrara.
It is possible to send money to support fellow prisoners and defendants following the “Renata” operation by reloading the Postepay card n. 5333 1710 7066 8120 headed to Kamilla Bezerra. In Italy it is also possible to make top-ups only in cash directly from the tobacconist (cost 2 euro) providing your data, your tax code (you need the card, not the number from memory), the number of the postepay card and the tax code of the holder (BZRKLL80P60Z602C). For those who prefer to make a transfer, the data is as follows: IBAN: IT04H3608105138216260316268 in the name of Kamilla Bezerra. A police car was smashed during the episode. The main accusation is of “attack with terrorist or subversive purposes”, as they were held responsible for sending three bomb packages arrived in June 2017 to the p. m. Rinaudo (prosecutor in several trials against the antagonist movement and the anarchists) and Sparagna (prosecutor in the trial for the “Scripta manent” operation) and Santi Consolo, at the time director of the DAP (“Department of Penitentiary Administration”) From Rome. They are not accused of any “associative” crime (such as articles 270 or 270bis, c. P.). A partner was arrested in France and will probably be transferred to Italy shortly.

In the following days there were other searches at the same homes that were already searched. Furthermore, Juan would also be investigated for an explosive attack on a Lega Nord headquarters (August 2018, Treviso), with accusations of “massacre” and “terrorist attack”.

Imprisoned since 1996 for a series of bank robberies, with a sentence of 11 years and 6 months. In 2007 he was finally removed from solitary confinement, (Isohaft). All of his requests for release (as his sentence was served) were repeatedly denied however so that although he should have been released in 2013, Thomas remains in pretrial detention. This is because he is considered “socially dangerous”, and a threat to the general public because of the crimes he committed and the attitude that he maintained in prison – mainly because he attended neither his ‘social integration’ brainwashing treatment nor would he allow himself to be exploited within the prison work schedule.
